When you use Luma, you may provide the following information:

Your name — entered during onboarding to personalize your experience
Mood entries — including your selected mood, activities, feelings, and optional notes
Onboarding answers — your responses to the setup questions that help us tailor your experience
Liked quotes — quotes you choose to save within the App
Reminder preferences — your preferred times for morning and evening check-in reminders

Important: Your Data Stays on Your Device

All personal data listed above is stored locally on your device only. We do not upload, transmit, or store your mood entries, journal notes, or personal information on any external server. If you delete the App, all locally stored data is permanently removed.

Third-Party Services

We use a limited number of third-party services to operate the App. These services may collect certain data as described below:

RevenueCat (Subscription Management)

We use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat may process:

Purchase and subscription status
Transaction identifiers
Device identifiers related to purchases

RevenueCat does not have access to your mood entries, journal notes, or other personal content.

PostHog (Analytics)

We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the App. This may include:

Screen views and navigation patterns
Feature usage (e.g., which buttons are tapped)
App version and device type
Crash reports

PostHog analytics are anonymous and do not include your name, mood entries, journal content, or any personally identifiable information.

Apple (App Store & Notifications)

Apple may process data related to:

App downloads and purchases through the App Store
Push notifications (if you enable reminders)

How We Use Your Data

Locally stored data is used solely to provide you with the App’s features — mood tracking, journaling, quotes, and personalized reminders. This data never leaves your device.
Anonymous analytics help us understand how the App is used so we can fix bugs and improve the experience.
Subscription data is used to manage your premium access and free trial.

We do not:

Sell your data to anyone
Share your personal data with advertisers
Use your data for targeted advertising
Create user profiles for marketing purposes

Data Storage and Security

Your personal data (mood entries, journal notes, name, preferences) is stored locally on your device using the device’s built-in storage. We do not operate servers that store your personal information.

Since your data is stored locally:

Only you have access to it
It is protected by your device’s security features (passcode, Face ID, etc.)
It is permanently deleted when you uninstall the App

Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have the following rights:

Right to access — You can view all your data directly within the App at any time.
Right to deletion — You can delete individual entries within the App, or delete all data by uninstalling the App.
Right to data portability — Since all data is stored on your device, you already have full control over it.
Right to object — You can opt out of analytics by contacting us at helloluma.app@gmail.com.
Right to lodge a complaint — You have the right to file a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

Legal basis for processing:

Analytics data: Legitimate interest in improving the App
Subscription data: Contract fulfillment
Local data: Contract fulfillment (providing the App’s features to you)

Children’s Privacy

Luma is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided information through the App, please contact us at helloluma.app@gmail.com.
